Update on Paw Print our Australian
Labradoodle Puppy
Paw Print is our puppy with a cleft palate. He was born last Saturday, April 21,2012. We just took him to the veterinarian today because he is maintaining his weight and not gaining. We have been using different methods to feed him and they decided that we should stick to one method which is tube feeding, this is the safest method.
Because of Paw Prints cleft palate it is very easy for him to contact Pneumonia. We have been very careful when feeding our Australian Labradoodle puppy, but it is still easy for them to aspirate. Paw Print is still very healthy, although he is still very small.
We have never had an Australian Labradoodle have a cleft palate, although it is not uncommon for dogs to have this. Both of our vets have seen this before. We are hoping that Paw Print will make it, and know that we are doing our best to help him survive. It is a long road for all of us, but we are committed to preserving his life if it is God’s will.
Paw Print is almost one week old already! Here is his newborn picture.
