It is beginning to cool off in the evening and the daytimes are not so unbearably hot! More people are enjoying the crisp air and beautiful foliage. Your furry friend is also probably beginning to the hot sticky weather.

School Supplies

Kids are back to school and at the end of the day backpacks can end up on the floor in a dogs reach. Make to sure to find a special place for these supplies that the dogs can’t nose on into getting a hold of things like pencils, pens, or glue for example. These things can cause major digestive issues if your dog decides they seem edible.

Rodents

Unfortunately, the rodents are also looking for places now that it is cooler as well. Using traps and baits are highly toxic to dogs and cats. Curious animals can find rodenticides interesting and fall into danger.

Snakes

If you are out in the foliage, watch out for snakes lurking under the leaves preparing for their hibernation. Be aware of what kind of snakes live in your area, know if your dog has encountered a venomous snake.

Mushrooms

Mushrooms are another thing to be mindful of this season! Those little things shoot out from nowhere! Know which ones are toxic and grow in your area, most mushrooms will give your Australian Labradoodle an upset tummy but some can do much more damage. Mushrooms can look alike, so if your dog does consume one make sure you look up the type to see if it is poisonous.
