Fireworks Safety For Your Dog
It is that time of year again that many dogs and dog owners do not like! Here are a few things to remember in keeping your dogs healthy and safe through another holiday season.
Fireworks
- Keep pets indoors
- Don’t bring dogs to firework shows as even the calmest dogs may get spooked
- Walk dogs before dark
- Keep cats inside
- When outdoors, keep dogs on a leash and under the control of a responsible adult
- Keep windows and doors closed
- Play soft music or turn on a television show to help mask the sound of fireworks
Cookouts
It’s always best to keep pets on their regular diet. Fatty meats can cause serious illness such as pancreatitis. Onion,
garlic and grapes can be poisonous to animals. Bones and corncobs are choking hazards that may require surgery to remove if ingested.
Keep your dog healthy and happy during this festive time of year!
