Distracting Your Puppy

By now your Australian Labradoodle puppy or dog has at one time or another began to display an unwanted behavior.  Maybe it has been at a dog park and he is Black Australian Labradoodlefocused on something that you absolutely don’t want to have his attention.  During this beautiful fall season it may be that he is distracted by a butterfly or leaf. Maybe he is barking at something or running after something.

When this type of behavior captures your puppy’s attention, it is KEY to distract him from the stimulus.  It can be as simple as tapping his back with your hand or even the point of your toe.  It is very important however that you don’t use the leash and pull on his collar, as it will most likely not distract him from the luring object.

Studying your puppy is key to training!
