Walking Your Puppy

Walking your new Australian Labradoodle puppy on a leash can be a challenge if you do not know how to do it correctly. No puppy likes to know that they are on a leash, so simply keep a loose leash. When you have a loose leash your puppy will work for you much easier than if you are keeping a tight leash.

It is not uncommon for your puppy to hold their leash and proudly walk themselves!

The best way to do this is to have your puppy tethered to you for the first few days or week. By doing this, you will also learn your puppies routine. This will help train your potty training routine as well.

If you are ready for your puppy not to be tethered to you, continue to keep a leash on your puppy. When your puppy jumps, simply step on the leash for him to sit. When your puppy is going out of the area where he is supposed to be, you can stop him. After all, sometimes puppies are faster than we are!

Never have a leash attached to your puppy in the crate!
