One of our favorite things to do here at Ashford Manor is to have the puppies participate in an agility course.  You might be thinking to yourself, “There is no way I could set up a course in my home.  It is too small and I don’t have the right equipment.”  Well, put those doubts behind you because we are sharing with you simple ways to make your very own agility course!  A basic agility course has the following types of obstacles: weave poles, dog-walk, standard jumps, pause table, tunnel, tire jump, and  or teeter board.  Not all of these are required or needed to have a good course.
To make your own tunnel, think back to your childhood where you made tents out of blankets:  attach (make sure it is secure so it doesn’t fall on the puppy)  blankets to chairs to create a tunnel.  Have your puppy wait at one end while you go to the other.  As you look through the tunnel call your puppy!  When he reaches you reward him with a treat!  Continue to play!
Instead of weave poles, use different items around your house that he can run through, piles of books, pillows, etc.
These are just two of the many ways you can create a fun indoor agility course for your puppy.  If you would like to read more check out the following websites:
